One of my staff has expressed some interest in buying part of my business

I have an ebay and Amazon account that they are interested in

They are both ME Trading As - as opposed to LTD accounts

So I assume the process is going to be very different

Maybe I could swap them to limited account firsts and then sell them over

And I was wondering if anyone had gone through the process at all or knew anything much about this area

Both eBay and Amazon ban the selling of accounts.

If you had set up as a Ltd company from the start you could have simply sold the shares of the company. If you try swapping now you may find you lose your trading history and feedback.

You might try the sneaky approach ie. handing over the control email address and bank account and letting the buyer of the business pretend he's you. But you'll find that this sits uncomfortably with most buyers and they appreciate that if they are ever found out the account would simply be closed and they'd lose their investment.

There have been a few cases of these accounts being transferred - even in Amazon's case they make exceptions - but it's tricky to pull off. I know someone who could probably do it for you but it ain't cheap. What's the selling price of the business?

Then it's not worth hiring any expertise. Take a chance and give the staff member control of the login details and ... keep your fingers crossed that the account/s doesn't get banned.
