Hi all,

I was looking to get a grant and I had an initial call with someone from Grantify. Has anyone used them? They are charging £5k and they said their winning rate is 60%

Grants are a complex business - the idea that someone will ask you for £5K on the off-chance of finding one is spurious, to say the least. Put it another way - even with their unsupported success claim, there is a 40% chance you will lose your money - which isn't great odds, even if verified.

Whilst I don't know Grantify, these organisations in general have an uncomfortable habit of asking for more.

Take a big step back;

What do you want / need money for?

What are you doing that might meet the cause / aims of a grant provider?

Coughing up £5k is just bonkers with an almost 50% chance of failure.

As above what level of grant and in what sector. Interesting website in the fact they are basically helping to fill out the application forms ready for presentation to the various fields open to any business. Fine perhaps if the fee is based on a successful application and grant being received but nothing to stop you doing your own research and application, personally my first port of call would be a chat with the accountant, defiantly don't underestimate them and the guidance they can give.

Grants are a lengthy and detailed exercise, check the criteria as work has to be done in the UK for most and you don't get the money until you have spent it and have to prove that you spent it and what on

Thanks for the response, I would still like to hear from the OG poster and we're still within our 14 day trial so our money's safe, so to speak. Have also spoken with Innovate UK just now who assured me they will help us if we get stuck.

It would also be very helpful to hear from anyone who has applied for this grant, we'd really like to get it first time if possible

I have applied for the grant and have paid the £5k, I have not submitted my application as we have had another business opportunity which has come along, we have gone past our 14 day money back guarantee service agreement, however, in their T's&C's, they claim that if you have not submitted your application which we have not, you could apply for a refund, we have written to them on 9th January and their CEO Mat has not been in touch, the sales rep has confirmed that she has forwarded our email along, their terms suggest that are affiliated with ADR scheme, this is an alternative dispute resolution process which we now have to go through in order to escalate the matter further. Will keep you all posted. Michael

DO NOT use Grantify. They are notorious spammers. Also they grossly mislead clients.

You will notice they do not have a single contact email address or telephone number etc. on their website! Do you want to use a firm that has no contact details?

Avoid Grantify like the Coronavirus!

There are few grants out there, my view is they are rare as rocking horse sh1t frankly, any of real value tend to be in biotech.

In the SME sector, The bulk tend to be for training or NVQ training type situations, or loads of admin to get back support rather than hard cash, a couple of grand from the council, all low key stuff - that’s my experience anyhow but would love to read of any good news windfall grants secured in this thread if anyone has any to share?

I certainly wouldn’t pay a firm £5k - you would better off buying a lottery ticket!

Appreciate this is quite an old post so probably it has been resolved already, but keen to follow up regarding what happened. Mat the CEO doesn't think he received any message about this, so perhaps there has been a missed email somewhere. Could you email [email protected] the CEO and we will look into this asap if it has not yet been resolved
