No, not changed anything?
Ah yes that was the thing that changed, google altered the report metrics.
I am just using the standard (as far as i know) WooCommerce "Comments" system with the corresponding boxes ticked to allow customer reviews.
HTML is pretty much beyond me I'm afraid, I can cut/paste stuff but as for actually understanding it well.......
You have one review (without description/comment) with the inside the product. That does not cause an error.
You have that (with description) and another three that are outside the product, they cause errors.
Its a WooCommerce bug or theme bug.
The theme author seems to think it could be fixable, waiting to hear back.
Just got a reply on Woo support forum, seems the next big update (3.8) 'should' include a fix for this.
hence why I said Big
Hopefully they will sort the wc_product_block_data too and stop it dumping lots stuff in the source code
Well, the 3.8 update is in, now to see if it makes any difference
.....And the answer from WooCommerce is.....
No, it will not - the fix will come in updates AFTER 3.8
The reason is because this is a big change. Schema is complicated. You can add the data to a product but Google is getting pearshaped because the data is not attached to reviews. Reviews are custom comments and as such can be indexed just like any other post. Google looks at them as a standalone object not as part of the product. Adding all the schema data means a whole load of work for the woopeople - who need paying.
Fair enough, i have no doubt its complicated
So, my answer above was from the Woo support forum, when i posted the question i also posted direct to Woo Support, they just replied and seems they are passing the buck to the theme designer
"This issue is usually tied to the theme rather than WooCommerce core that provides those details to Google."
No idea if it theme or Woocommerce but wasn't what i wanted to hear
Little update -
Another Woo update landed yesterday
Today i triggered a Google validation and this time instead of bombing out with the original error message it started validating
Fingers crossed and hope it will actually complete the task now......
It now adds the last 5 product reviews to the product mark-up
So it will fall-over again if a product has more than 5 reviews??
Not a big issue but could be for some.
No, but it only includes the 5 latest reviews
Ah thats better.
Seems to be working, errors are down to about 15 from a couple of hundred now and its still validating.
