Keep your mind open, there is some fantastic vegan food out there. (I’m a dedicated carnivore BTW

I have to agree. I have "suffered" at a vegan restaurant and found that their mushroom wellington to be excellent. And deserts can be very nice, just avoid the vegan ice cream!

Does my breakfast of Toast, spread and strawberry jam or marmalade and black coffee could me count as a part time vegan?

If they came to your place would you attempt to give them a vegan dish ?

Tell ‘em you are a carnivore and demand bacon.

Black pudding nailed to the front door will keep them away

The world health organisation has classed processed meat as a group 1 carcinogen , linking it to cancer for many years now, so its not exactly a bad thing by eating healthier.

I wouldn't force anyone to stuff vegan food but everyone I know said it didn't feel as stodgy in their stomach as meat.

I've noticed when I eat vegan food, I'm able to eat a lot of food.

I'm very disappointed in you Chris as I never thought that a man like yourself would succumb to awful American habits like drinking coffee with breakfast

Is it legal to eat a vegan?

It's funny to joke about vegans, hehe, lol, etc, but expecting your friends to compromise their principles just for your convenience doesn't seem like something a friend would do.

I am very seriously concerned that, as the OP has not returned since his original post, he may well have succumbed to his prejudice and choked on a perfectly reasonable vegan meal.

Either that, or his hosts have renegaded on their veganism and taken to eating dinosaurs

That is seriously annoying - I don't agree that veganism/vegetarianism is necessary so I'm prejudiced. Vegans/Vegies throw blood on carnivores and invade restaurants abusing the customers is not "prejudice". Get s******.

I was hoping the op's friends were also members of this forum and had told him to get stuffed. I think the OP uses the term 'friends' very loosely though.

I'm still alive and the food was fine. What does annoy me is we had Chilli Concarne. Very tasty and I would eat it again but the dish means "Chilli with meat" this was with beans and fungi. Why can they not call it Chilli with Beans?

I grew up with him - so yes a long time friend. His wife has been on the scene for about 7 years but only turned Vegan 3 years ago. He still eats meat but has to cook it himself and has his own fridge. When he visits he chows on biltong like it's going out of fashion. Prejudiced - huh.
