I couldn't open the forum this afternoon/evening until now. All I kept getting was Transnexis web hosting company...

Did anyone else get this? And why?

Yeah, I got it as well. I emailed Richard and he said someone had hijacked the domain.

It just came back. Let's hope the problem is fixed. If the hijacking was deliberate, Transnexis did themselves no favours.

It might have been DNS, if the virtual mapping for the domain was wrong it would have gone to the default site on the box.

I do not know why they did this.

The forums are hosted on servers owned by my company, but the domain names and DNS was managed by Transnexis.

I have had no bills, reminders, or in fact any correspondence from their company what so ever. They just cut the domain names off. One of their techs has restored the domain back to how it should be but cannot tell me why this happened.
It is not even as if the domain names are up for renewal yet!

We usually find when it happens to us it tend to be an old backup restored over the current settings.

I though it might be the bandwidth from all those personal pictures... anyway back now but I do know how scary it can be for you when its down and you can't work out why at first!

i emailed transnexis at 16:23 & again at 17:21 but got a bog standard answer that for legal reasons they could not divulge information. Only asked why their home page kept appearing.

Maybe its the emails from others too that must have caused them to respond so quickly.

What is weird is that the guy in their tech could not find any reference to a UKBF account on their system, only that the domain names are on their DNS.

Time to move the DNS. We use BT who are no better. Might one of the Forum members be able to take the DNS mamngment over for you.

I've already considered that, but am waiting for a "manager" to call me on Monday to see what they have to say.
