Has anyone advertised on facebook???

Not on your Page, but via paying for it, has it been effective???

I am pondering on paying for an ad and am unsure if it is worth it.

I have advertised on Face book numerous times for numerous businesses it really depends on what you wish to achieve if you want to increase traffic to your site and or increase your likes this is a good way of doing this.

However all of my campaigns have not created direct sales, but finding the customers for me to communicate with on facebook further it has then led to sales.

An Idea I did pay per click advertising setting a budget of £5.00 per day for 2 weeks or even try a few days and see what you achieve.

Good luck with your marketing

I agree it all depends on what you want to achieve from it, your product/service and how it is approached. Facebook users are in a social space so are not motivated buyers across the board like with adword and natural search engine visitors, as such they need to be evaluated and approached accordingly.

Great advice from Vivid. It doesn't have to cost money but if you want to go down this route do trial it first & see what works best for your business.

I have seen Facebook & Twitter generate leads & I plan to go into business in the not too distant future in this field, BUT agree that you have to integrate any use of social media as part of your overall marketing plan and approach it with a targeted strategy in order to achieve the outcomes you want eg engage with your existing followers, increase likes, drive people to your website etc

PM me if you want any advice.

I am not going to duplicate what has already been said, we have run and are still running ads on Facebook for a number of clients. You do need to target them with the geo options, but even more than that the secret ,if there is one - know the best day, time zone, of customers and frequency ;) get these right and you will have a better chance of success, providing you use the suggestions above. If you get a Facebook voucher you can test it for FREE :D
