Employee went off on dependents leave but may have attended an interview

    If an employee takes a day off to look after a sick child but then attends an interview on that same day. Where does an employer stand with that legally? Surely if dependent was being looked after by someone else during time of interview, the employee should have come back to work, not attended an interview. Would this be gross misconduct and reason for instant dismissal? Employee has been with us for just over two years.

    Nah, it's only 7 February 2020 in the Julian calendar so nothing to worry about. Or if you are French revolutionary it's 2 Jun 228.

    We have an employment lawyer but I'm just thinking will anything come of it. So thinking out loud on here before we get our employment lawyer involved.
