Effluent Water Bill problems

    In the brave new world of competitive water, we were delighted to see that United Utilities are now calling themselves Water+ - only capitalism and the free market could achieve such dizzying heights of efficiency and customer service...

    Water+ have obviously shot out of the blocks, intent on building on the awesome reputation that UU had for quality and service, and have sent us a bill approximately 6x value of the previous bill, based on 4x volume of usual water usage for the period. They have neglected to show any meter readings for the volume, and have increased component charges by up to 25%.

    Effleunt sample analyses are still being sent to us, but we are mystified as to how these samples are being obtained, since the very nice lady who used to visit us for these retired last year and no-one replaced her.

    They have been "looking into this" for several weeks with no progress discernible.

    Has anyone else seen similar creativity in their water effluent billing please?
