Do you post on Saturdays?

It's all in the title really.

Sometimes I take my orders down to the post office Saturday but usually I leave them for Monday.

What effect do you think this has? Do royal mail have the same processing and delivery schedule on Saturday as in the week?

Is there any difference in posting Saturday morning and posting first thing Monday morning?

Just something that has been playing on my mind lately.

I stopped posting out on Saturday's some while back, it seemed to make little or no difference whether mail was posted Saturday or Monday morning. I will however start posting out on Saturday's again when the Christmas rush starts in order to make dealing with mail on Monday easier.

There is no point. The Royal Mail do not process any mail on a Saturday, and Saturday collections from Post Boxes are being cut, same with Post Office branches. So effectively, your items sit in the local sorting office until Monday when they start the postal process.

The other parcel couriers again don't collect on Saturdays, only deliver.

I would save yourself a bit of effort and take the time to spend with your family at the weekend.

Thank you so much! Just what I thought. It'll effectively free up 30min of my week, which doesn't sound like much but it's another day off over a year!

Yet I have ordered a shower from Screwfix Direct on Sunday morning at 10:30 and it was delivered at 07:30 the very next morning (Monday) ! ! Standard delivery option, Parcel Force. This one wasn't damaged either

Didn't really expect it until tuesday or wednesday.

But what really sorts out a good express parcel service from an average one is how they deal with the mis-routes, and how well they keep the customer informed when the inevitable problem does occur ;)
