Desktop icons gone

    I worked out the problem...

    I must have had a folder open with a file that said Desktop and then I dragged that to another folder. Bit complicated to explain but I found it, dragged it back and everything seems to be ok now.

    It is better to restore your system to a previously saved point. When any failure or data corruption occurs, System Restore can help return your system to the previous working condition. It brings you back to the files and settings that were saved in the restore point.

    While I am a supporter of system rebuild over time consuming system repair, I cannot agreed that a folder lost into another folder by accidental drag and drop is sufficient grounds for a system rebuild.
