A CRYSTAL Maze-themed attraction based in Newcastle upon Tyne is set to become the latest challenge for thrill seekers visiting the city centre.

Never Give Up sees challengers locked in an Egyptian themed tomb for up to an hour, with the aim of breaking out by solving a variety of mental puzzles or completing skill or physical based challenges.

Similar attractions in London, Manchester and Birmingham have proved extremely popular – attracting more than 1 million visitors to date.

The newest addition in Newcastle has finally opened its doors – and seen the creation of six new jobs in the region and gained credible experience for some of the region’s university students.

Using the skills of Northumbria University’s design graduates has seen the sets, themes and costumes come to life in the live, action adventure game.

Never Give Up is based on Scotswood Road, a former office unit – which has been transformed following a significant investment.

Never Give Up challenges include physical, skill, & mental games for teams of up to 8 people.

Director of Never Give Up Chris Fitzakerley said: “Similar games to Never Give Up in Manchester and London are really popular. We wanted to offer the North East an opportunity to get in on the action, and then we found out about the empty unit on Scotswood Road.

Never Give Up is a very unique form of entertainment and is suitable for all the family, friends and even team-building for corporate events.”

‘Never Give Up is the next generation of entertainment; a brand-new experience for players looking for something a bit different to the usual escape game, cinema or bowling.’

Currently Never Give Up has one level, King Tut’s tomb, and several games with an Egyptian theme. Teams of up to eight players are welcome, and hints can also be provided for groups who find themselves struggling.

Chris said “It can be a challenge, especially if you haven’t done an escape type game before. However, we love seeing players get out just in time – beating the clock, and knowing they ‘Never Gave Up’”.

Anyone interested in playing Never Give Up can book online at http://www.nevergiveupnewcastle.co.uk. Tickets are priced at £20pp and gift vouchers are available on the website.
