I notice that a number of people have had difficulties.

When I had successfully logged in, I received two error messages, one saying that the connection had been disconnected because it hadn't been used for a while and one saying that the account was already in use elsewhere in the system.

    They glibly blame my computer.

    Does anyone have any solutions?

Clear your cookies and try it again after a couple of hours.

To me it sounds like the have security in place to stop duplicate sessions, its a good thing they have that in place, just a pain when it goes wrong. if there is an issue systems like that normally time out after an hour or two.

I tried the cookies, and as for the second idea, even if they did, there was no duplicate session going on.

Thanks, but I have tried all that. I think there is a fundamental fault which they are keeping under wraps. they suggested I go to an Internet cafe!

...and furthermore, when I asked to contact one of their IT specialists, they refused. Why?

I have filed successfully in the past. That is what is so annoying. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" is not their motto - it doesn't get people knighthoods.

I have a theory that they have used a feature of some specific version of Java or Javascript, and if you have that or later (- possibly "or earlier" - who knows?), then you are OK.

A thought has occurred to me. Has anyone come across a way of bypassing their fancy automatic frills and to upload manually? Something along the lines of "CTRL M" for manual?

Is the error message that you got in the first post this -

You have been logged out because the system has been inactive, or the login is already being used

    Dave.

Yes. Since the site upgrade, I cannot use my computer at home at all. That message was a bungle. Surprised it even went out. This is going from a council library computer.

Yes, that is exactly the error message I got. Word perfect. Two messages pushed together and not even consistent.

I am dealing with two parties whose ignorance and foolishness is beyond measure. The client people now suggest the problem is caused by a Firefox upgrade. How do you reply to such an idea?
