First off, I know I should have been more careful etc etc etc, and so calling me a moron isn't going to help ;)

What has me annoyed is that while signed up for e-reminders, I didn't get any from companies house, and the reminders I got from hmrc said I had a deadline on 31st. I submitted my accounts on 31st only to find out when I logged in to companies house online system that they had it down for the 25th.

    Now they want £150 :/

It's not going to cripple me, but as a student I'm not made of money either. Is there anything I can do, or should I just pay up and learn my painful lesson?

Was there any legitimate reason like below for it being late:

If not then pay it and make sure you do not let it happen next year, although if you have an accountant this is something that they can make sure does not happen.

I see this happen all too often when it comes to the DIY accounting approach.

Companies House is one place where if don't click the submit button by the deadline you will be poorer by £150 the next day! Whatever goes in doesn't matter but do key in by the deadline!! So unfortunately you're poorer by £150. If you repeat it next year the penalty goes up in geometrical progression.

Thanks for the replies. Think it's time I got an accountant... (although I am about to do a business accounting module when I start back lol)
