Hi,

Does anyone remember the exact number of days it takes for a .co.uk domain to become available once past the current owners renewal date? I found the info a couple of years back and it was around 3 months but there was a specific process which gave the exact number of days before it becomes available to grab.

Cheers,

Andrew

forever we have been waiting for one that expired in july, been waiting for it to expire since jan and then found it it was months after you had to wait

i found a website the other day explaining, its something like 60 days of suspension, then 30 days where they have to pay a charge to get it back, then it goes up i think. but it a pita in the later stages

ill see if i can find it again

Pulled from Nominet website...

If a renewal request is not received within 30 days of expiry, the domain name will be suspended. We will send you two further renewal reminders. Seven days before suspension we will send you a suspension warning. Then 30 days after expiry, when the domain name is suspended we will send you a suspension notice. Throughout this period it is still possible to renew your domain name.

When a domain name is suspended all services that use the domain name will stop working. This means that your web site at that domain name will not work and any email using the domain name will not be delivered.

After a 60 day suspension period the domain name will be cancelled and will then be immediately available for re-registration by someone else. At any point during the suspension, your registrar can renew the domain name for you and the suspension will be lifted. We will send you one final reminder seven days before the domain name is cancelled (83 days after the expiry date)."

90 days I had in mind. I also remember it stating that it might not become available straight away but might take several days before registering might be possible. Looks like I have to keep a close eye from 90 days onwards then.

Thanks ppl.
