Can I use my remaining holidays as notice of resignation?

I have found a new job and before i start the new job I need to resign from my current job however, I want to use up my remaining holidays as my notice after working a week. Example, 15 days holiday notice would be for 20 working days (5 days work, 15 days holiday). Is this ok or can he refuse to do this.

An employer does have the right to refuse particular holiday dates, so he can refuse. If he does he will have to pay outstanding holidays when you leave.

However, unless your absence will create problems in training staff or covering work, most employers would prefer you to do this.
