IMO its a one word domain name, these are impossible to get now, and although they are only worth what someone will pay for it, i would suggest to a tourist company in egypt it would be worth a lot more than £25k.

Also depends how much you need the money.

You also need to figure in lost sales from the fact you wil not be found on the search engines if you simply purchase a new domain now to reaplce it.

How much profit are you making a year, as I'd times that by 2 at least to get the lost revenue and then add whatever you want for the domain on top.

Having said that, personally I believe that domain names are not worth much on there own, its what you do with your site that counts.

Is anyone going to type in pyramid on the off chance? Id doubt it.

Well as pyramid is on top position on google and there are on average 110,000 search per month for the "pyramid" worldwide and 8,100 searches per month in the uk, i would say as a domain alone £25-£30k seems ok alto you might get a bit more.

Millionaire Holidays

We do acquire some of the travel related domains on regular basis with a view to develop them into lead generation sites.
What I use to value them: annual searches x expected CTR (5%) x cost per click

For example: competition for 'adkfj' is low and the cost per click is only £0.04 and the number of annual searches are say '10000' then the value of domain = 10000 x 0.05 x 0.04 = £20

Normally when acquiring any business assets you normally calculate value over next 5 to 10 years but for domain names I restrict to one year because search listings within google results cannot be relied upon and there is very likely that in future people will not be relying so much on google for information.

Hope this helps.

Hi There,

valuing a domain is difficult and there are so many things that need to be taken into consideration.

Things to think about are your listings in Google and if you are page one or in the top 3 then the traffic visiting that domain will have significant value to someone.

If your domain is attached to a website that has income, this has a big factor as well.

If your domain has a high pagerank and is an ages domain this can be very valuable.

And also if your domain is very brandable like yours is, this can add value.

My advice would be to get an independant valuation from somewhere like Sedo. It's the only real way that you are going to get an accurate idea of its value.

Failing that, pop on one of the digital marketplaces such as sedo or the digitalpoint forum and see what people are willing to bid for it.

I hope this helps and good luck!

Kind Regards

Grant
