Can I charge a customer for paying by cheque?

    Seems like China is well ahead of UK for making payments, whether personal or business.

    The vast majority of under 40's all make their payments via a mobile phone.

    Quick & efficient!

    I don't think they would know what a cheque book was if it hit them in the face.

    Yes, much like facebook and google (and the majority of the large tech firms) do to all their customers.

    Most Chinese use non-Chinese brands, mostly Apple, then Samsung . . . . .

    On a slightly different note, there are always people collecting for charity outside the supermarket. I (and many others) can’t contribute because I don’t carry cash anymore. I might have a couple o quid in the car for parking but that’s it. All a carry around these days is a debit card. Don’t even have a wallet.

    Many beggars can now accept card payments. There is a special quasi- bank facility specifically for this purpose. I suspect charities will soon follow

    I suspect they will adapt.

    Though the evidence is that the bank’s aren’t anticipating this any time soon.
