Business to Business Cold Calling on Foot

We obtain most of our business by walking in and out of shops, restaurants and business premises and telling them about our services.

One of our sales agents has just been doing this and has been told there is a new law coming in next week which prevents us doing this.

Is this the case? Has anyone else heard of this?

Where would I search to find out if this is true.

I know the legalities of telephone cold calling, but have never heard of anything on foot to businesses?

Can anyone help?

Thanks

I think the person who made the comment is probably confusing the voluntary code where major utility companies have agreed to to stop calling in non doorstop selling areas.

I have not heard of anything regarding B2B sales, doubt anyone would ever enforce it either.
