I have a 2.5 cubic meter LCL shipment ready on 20th of Jan. Door to door delivery via airfreight costs £720 pounds. In view of the current disruption at the UK ports at the moment, shall I go ahead with the airfreight option instead of sea freight?

    Hi Justin.

It depends on the urgency of your shipment.

The disruption at UK ports is improving, and we are hoping that will continue.

With LCL cargo, consolidators have priority with bookings, to keep services moving.

As you can imagine, LCL costs have risen dramatically over the last few months, so the saving when compared to air freight is not as much as it used to be.

If you cannot wait the 30ish days (From door to door) of sea freight, and 5 to 7 days (From door to door) of air freight is vital, then it's worth paying the extra, if not, then no, it is probably better to ship via sea.

    Hope that helps.
