Best way to promote this on web? Ideas please

Apart from the normal ways of promoting a website do any of you gurus have some suggestions on how to promote the following expedition website around the web?

Gobi 2011

I am part of a small team walking across the Gobi desert next year. Looking to raise awareness in as many schools, educational environments as we can.

What about things like teachers forums, teaching magazines and things like that?

You could also try to email some headmasters

If you're looking to raise awareness in schools it would be good to have some sort of resource on the website that teachers can refer to. Like the "facts" section, but multiple pages on all aspects of the desert and anything related to it.

A twitter feed showing real time lead up to the trek would be good, as would short 1 min videos with crew and volunteers about what they expect to get from the trip and what they hope to learn.
