Best Software like Simplex D

I am looking for a simple income expenditure software for past accounting years that I can map my paypal/bank to

used my own computerised version of simplex d book but accountant says because they lump my 3 sales channels into 1 they are difficult for them (hense charge me lots more for)

just tried microsoft office accounting and various online offerings - but they are all so confusing - quickbooks had a slight problem loading 200 transactions a day - small items - and really all I want is to upload daily sales - I don't care about each transaction in a day - just need daily total for books

is there any software that's easy to use - just want to set up the same accounts buckets as simplex d

have 3 types of banking - paypal/bank/cash

don't want to create invoice or any of that kinda stuff - don't even know what a cash flow balance is or the 100 other types of reports in accounting software

just need to get income/ expenditure/transfers into a system and get a simple set of accounts out

Use Xero with bank feeds and link to your PayPal account it will automate much of what you are doing and once some time is invested in the setup it should almost run itself.

TBF your accountant should be advising you of a better way of doing things as oppose to just charging you year in year out for putting the same things right.

With MTD on the horizon they should be getting you digital ready.

@Sandra Bothwell you've just made me feel very old I remember well the SimplexD books!

Preparing accounts back when SimplexD books were around was so very different to today.

I think youll find any system will take some time to use but most will enable you to import data which is a huge time saving. I do it with Accounts Portal; it works well. Could your accountant recommend a system and help you with it?

Moneysoft certainly has facilities to import transactions from bank statement csv files. Needs a bit of initial setting up for that purpose (transaction categories) but once that's done, things should import smoothly. Free trial available, just download and install.
