I'm redirecting some pages from one site to another with a very basic
    Redirect 301 /pagesredirected/ https://NEWSITE/pagesredirected/ in my htaccess

It works fine when I set it up, but check again a few hours later and it's no longer redirecting

I then add exactly the same line under the previous line in my hataccess and it works again (for a few hours)

Anyone have any clue why the redirects are not holding?

It's not browser related as my stats show visitors going to the pages on the old site every few hours, until I change it again.

Header checkers show that it is redirecting OK (when it is)

Previous redirect is cached in your browser, possibly.

    Try incognito or another browser

My stats were showing visitors landing on the old version

I think it may be Wordpress related
I've got Wordpress on the old site and the permalink in the .htaccess

I've put my redirects right at the top of htaccess and also copied them at the bottom

It's redirecting fine at the moment and Wordpress is working fine too
Will see if it's still working in a couple of hours

You can refresh you url database in wordpress by simply going to permalink settings and clicking 'save' without changing anything. This will do an autoflush.

The pages I am redirecting are nothing to do with Wordpress
It's just that the site had Wordpress on it as well
