Bankrupt and Liquidation stock

Aged 55, and retiring soon from my job with a smallish pension and have been thinking of a business I could start for minimal investment to bring in extra income, need to clear about £800-£1000/month after all overheads, costs etc. I have been investigating small existing businesses, shops and franchises, but don't want large overheads and worries, so thought just start something from scratch that I can operate from home and build up over a period of time.
Have been looking at web sites for bankrupt and liquidated stock and seems like the sort of thing I could start for a few thousand and sell items on ebay and car boot sales etc
Has anyone got any experience of this and can recommend good companies to buy stock from

What is your work history? If you have areas of expertise, that you could offer to other companies as a consultant, you have no stock, little overhead and £1000/month could be achieved on a day or two a week.

Problem with ebay is that there are already so many people doing it. That is not to say that you couldnt make a success of it, but margins are tight and competition fierce.

Whats your background?
There may be existing business owners on here that could use your skills/experience as a consultant or may even consider your investment in consideration for an equity stake?

Good luck

I was planning to offer a business-in-a-box solution to people like you. There's a lot of money to be made during christmas especially selling consumer goods.

Unfortunately, I don't have much time as I will launch another business soon but if you are serious I may make an exception in your case.

If you are interested send me a pm.

Thanks

Thanks for replies.
I am a design engineer by profession, working in the aerospace industry, but was hoping to try something differnt as a business, so consulting not really an option. Also, it's difficult to do consulting from home as really need to be on the customers premises all the time due to propietry data, documents etc
