hi,

Just asking if anyone knows anything about the letting industry??

how’s it done?
what you would need to start up??

any information you think relevant would be helpful

the reason I am asking is, I have just signed to rent a property and have noticed that the estate agent hasn’t been that helpful didn’t even show us around the property and left it to the owner ,

is it just me thinking that they make easy money ??

No easy money. The other way round the agent was proably pissssed off because business is tough. Not a biz for newbes

yes, you can start small - offering to work as agent for a friend / family / someone local... however there is a lot more to it than you think - and get it wrong and you could be on the end of some expensive law suits... so best to get experience first if possible.

Estate Agents don't always run letting agencies and some offer "tenant finder" services, where they just find the tenant and the landlord does the rest.

Not having a clue about the market is not the best way to start.

It will be very difficult for you to do business in this time period and their is a lot of risk it can be expected that after investment and a lot of hard work you will be end making no money or may be loosing money
