Amended accounts update Companies House

Hello,

Can someone please let me know how long does it usually take for companies house to publish amended accounts?

I applied for mortgage and after submitting my documents realised that company's house didn't publish my amended account from a few months ago.

The only difference between the old ones and the new ones is how depreciation is calculated.

I sent new ones and they were delivered yesterday. However, mortgage lender will not proceed until these are published.

I also saw that there is option to electronically submit amended accounts. Can you recommend any software that can do this and would this make things faster?

I've not had to submit amended accounts to Companies House for a long time but really wouldn't expect it to be months.

I'd contact them and see what's happended. I find Companies House very helpful.

i think he means he resubmitted amended accounts as they were originally sent in months ago!

@Michael14 are you saying you sent amended accounts months ago which weren't published and then resent those amended accounts again yesterday?

This is correct, sorry for confusion!

I sent amended accounts months ago, but didn't chose delivery with proof (I just put stamp and put it in the postal box) so it might have got lost. This is my mistake.

Then I sent to mortgage broker these new accounts a few days ago and they saw that there is a depreciation discrepancy. Only then did I realise that Companies House didn't publish amended accounts.

Since I had negative retained earnings there was no tax implication from this depreciation adjustment (my corporation tax was 0 anyway) and I forgot to check if this got updated as it didn't have any impact on my further obligations. Again my mistake.

Now, I am in a situation where I am waiting for Companies House to update my accounts (sent by signed postage and delivered) but this can take a lot of time for them to process, so I am hoping I can make thing quicker by submitting this online. My mortgage lender put everything on hold until this gets published.

The issue is that mortgage lender cannot say "if this get's published we will give you the mortgage to sign", they are saying "we need this in order to proceed" so I am losing time without being able to look for something else.

Do you have any recommendations for software that could make it faster to publish amended accounts?

As far as I am aware you can only send amended accounts to CH on paper by post, I have found that CH usually update paperwork to show online in roughly 2 to 4 weeks, give them a ring they have always been quite helpful when I have phoned them in the past.
With the amended accounts you did clearly mark on the front of them that they were 'Amended Accounts' otherwise they will probably be rejected.

Companies House may take ten to fourteen days to process at which point the result may still be rejection. In which case the grace period you usually get to re-file is probably of little value to you.

If not they may still get filed depending upon how officious the handler decides to be.

The filing of amended accounts electronically is not a listed service with Companies House.
