Advice and suggestions - Gift Vouchers

I have an idea to promote sign up to my newsletter.

My business is Richard Hobson Photography. The part of my business I want to promote with this idea is social photography, in particular portraiture.

I have thought about offering a £10 gift voucher to everyone who signs up to my Monthly newsletter. The newsletter contains details of special offers, promotions, new services and advice on getting the most out of your own photography.

The rationale behind this is to target parents and families who would then go on to use the voucher as part payment for my services. I would also build up an opted in email list of potential future customers for other services.

One pitfall I've though about is the vouchers being passed to others but I'm not worried really as if they are it still means extra business.

Is £10 enough. It would purchase 1 6x9 or 2 6x4's at my current pricing. Or could be used towards larger purchses.

What do you think?

Any suggestions on how to make it succeed.

I think it's probably a good idea. Can't see why not.

You could put flyers/postcards around town, as well as ads on your website and local community websites/forums etc. just so long as everything drives people to sign up for the newsletter.

I think that is a really good idea.I would sign up to get money off a portrait in the future.Where are you based please.
