Ive just signed up a new client today and he said something to me thats beginning to sound horribly familiar. He said: I wasnt going to bother with an accountant, I was told to just make sure that I keep all my receipts.
Fortunately his best friend whos also a client of mine told him to come and see me.
The point I suppose Im trying to make is that BOOKKEEPING IS VERY IMPORTANT. There is a reason why accountants hike up their fees when faced with carrier bags full of receipts and no books. Dont say I didnt warn you!
Unless your books are minimal a bookkeeper is probably the best money youll ever spend. So for those of you who are currently just stuffing papers at random into a carrier bag please please please make an attempt to get them into some sort of order. Even if its just listing all your transactions in date order in an excel file.
Regards
