Hi All,

My company is quite young, although the core team is quite experienced in our creative roles.

I was wondering if exsiting video or photographers would share their marketing routing ? Is it simple word of mouth, online adds or getting to know local business?

Thanks!

Nick

Marketing is all about differentiation. The worst thing to do, IMO, is to find out what others are doing and do the same.

I understand the need to be unique but there are limitations surely - plus the old saying of if its not broke dont fix it.

I'm not saying I want to emulate and copy someone else but be pointed a little bit in the right direction.

Regards

Nick

Find a Niche - be as narrow as possible.

Here is an example: Video Testimonials.

I just saw a company the other day and they provided video testimonials as a service.

What was once seen as a small market becomes huge with the internet.

And it becomes easier to sell due to the fact that you are speaking directly to the customers needs rather than 'we just do video'

What about video for gay weddings? Or video for getting a job..

Just some ideas for you to think about.

Jules,

Thanks, I wanted to have both my links in there but it counts it as one - fixed now

Have already done a gay wedding and got a few referrals. In terms of testimonials, speaking heads is something we are looking at doing and we also have a few other bespoke packages for various industries so not worried about so much of doing the niche's in video (I'll be a bit ego driven here but we are a good team and know what we ca do)

Its more on the marketing side - finding the clients who are activly looking at the moment is the part I'm struggling on.

Thanks

What kind of clients???? That's the whole point of a marketing strategy!

Just a quick look around your website does not tell me a great deal about your corporate work or any particular special touches you can bring to the table...it was just a quick look, which is my point, nothing jumps out to me to tell me what you're offering or where your skills lie, more like you have your own ideas for what you want to produce, but need some corporate work to bring the cash in to pay for your creative stuff.

I might be wrong, but its just how it felt to me, so it may well be for others.
