    Hello,

Was wondering what you lovely people thought what I should do with my 40k. I currently have no debts/ loans. I do however want to invest some money as I think it would definitely generate more of a return than a savings act .

I work full time and really don't want this money for the next 2-3 years unless i am thinking to invest in food business like peri peri chicken / pizza shop but really don't have any experience doing it so rather work supervise it and hire people to work for me.

    Please advice.

Watch out for all the PM's with promises of untold wealth in return for you investing in their business.

What is it with everyone seemingly having 40 grand to invest recently? Is someone giving away lump sums of £40K somewhere? Would someone please tell me where.

As Ethical states above, threads like these will get the vultures circling.

Totally!! Have a look at the peer to business lending sites like ReBuildingsociety or Funding Circle - Both lend to growing businesses and give you a good return on funds, if you want your cash out you can sell the remainder of your loan on the "micro" market.
Obviously there are risks (as there are anywhere) but if you spread your investment over a number of businesses (and sectors) you can mitigate this. A recent loan I listed was agreed around 16% interest - you won't find that on your bank's deposit account sheet!!
