With another hot day across the UK, it's often the small gestures that make the biggest difference.

Is anyone treating their staff to ice lollies or ice cream today? It's a simple, low-cost way to show appreciation and help everyone stay cool while they're hard at work.

Are you doing anything extra for your team in the heat? I'd love to hear what businesses are doing to look after their staff when its so hot.

The boss said we have ice lollys at home. I might have to raise this with HR as adverse working conditions especially with 2 High end PCs pumping out heat in the office converting it into an impromptu sauna. Boss also stated that he will have to add Sauna setup as a BIK due to provisioning spa activities in the office

My old company would arrange for an ice cream van to come and park outside the main entrance. We got one free item each.

I have been giving a cold bottle of water to any delivery driver that turns up at the house this week, even the bin men I may add.

What is really frustrating is hearing the ice cream van over at the playground around 3.00pm when kids coming out of school, thinking she'll be around very soon........ wrong last time we saw her was Sunday, its a form of torture 😂

Small gestures help in the heat. Ice lollies are nice, but I believe cold drinks and flexible hours matter more to be fair.
Oh we had those too, all year round. Juice in the fridge but soft drinks had to be bought from a vending machine. The final owners provided free fruit and soft drinks every day. Including San Pellegrino or "Tory Fanta" as my kids christened it😄
