    Royal Mail Price Increase 2013

You will have to apply for a Royal Mail Business account. At the moment the requirement to obtain cheaper postage is that you send more than 5000 parcels a year however I believe that this is reducing to 1000 parcels per year from April so you should be OK.

    Royal Mail Price Increase 2013

Yes that appears to be so for now. However the small print says: "These prices may be reviewed for individual customers to take into account average item size, collection location and destination distribution." So we could all end up paying different amounts.

    Royal Mail Price Increase 2013

That is my understanding. I have just called the OBA helpline who confirmed that there are no plans at present to introduce small and large parcel format for account customers - that would have been a nightmare to deal with.

    Royal Mail Price Increase 2013

I think that the details are now available at: http://www.royalmail.com/sites/default/files/RoyalMail_BusinessContractServices_April2013b.pdf As with all Royal Mail documents it is difficult to pick out the relevant bits however my understanding is that for those of us currently using the OBA...

    Doing PAYE yourself

Have another look at moneysoft - I don't think you will find anything more cost effective or easier to use (sorry Tom!) As for the accountant quote its hardly 'shocking'.Why should they do it for free? Yes you could find a cheaper quote but you know and trust your accountant and that may be...

    Company Dissolved

It sounds to me as if it is not the accounts that are the problem as the penalties are only issued once the accounts have been filed. It is more likely to be the non submission of the Annual Return which has led to the company being disolved so who was responsible for filing this?

    Filing late tax return form

Since a 2009-10 Tax Return was issued and not submitted by the due date it is likely that a 2010-11 Return will also have been issued and will therefore need to be submitted. As this Return is now also late there will be penalties charged and these are currently running at £10 a day even if...

How to process deferred income (Sage)

I dont think I would raise an invoice for the full amount. I would set up the customer and receive the deposit against the customer account as a payment on account. This would then show as a negative debtor on the balance sheet (ie a liability that you may have to repay). I would then raise an...

Paypal Fees on end of year

You might want to look at using an accounts package rather than Excel for recording the transactions. Many of the online packages such as Xero, Kashflow and Accounts Portal have Paypal integration built in which automatically allocate the sales and charges to the correct places.

    Packetpost

I've just been reading through the details about the new prices. These seem to have changed from the original proposals published last month. I cannot see a service called 'Packetpost' any more instead there is 'Packet Despatch' which has introduced different prices depending on the number of...

Import sales from various channels into bookkeeping software

We have an eBay store, own website using Prestashop and an Amazon store and use Kashflow for our bookkeeping software. As you say, Paypal is automatically imported and although you have to manually import orders from the website and Amazon, this is relatively straight forward - I just save them...

Quickbooks Question - Recently added customers

I dont think this information is available in QuickBooks unless you have specified it manually using a custom field when the customer was added.

    Director pension contribution lump sum?

There should not be a problem with the company paying into a pension on your behalf however you need to be aware that contributions are capped at 100% of your 'earnings' and your earnings only include your salary and not any dividends drawn.

    Royal Mail Price Increase

Not sure but the full details can be found at: http://www.royalmail.com/prices2012 There appears to be a number of services where, although RM say the prices will increase in April, they cannot yet say by how much!

    Royal Mail Price Increase

I've just received the latest price increase notification from Royal Mail for their Packetpost services and it appears that, not only will VAT be charged from 02/04/12 but they have also removed the tiers for the lower weights. From April the first tier will be 0-750g which will cost £2.19...
