Hi again,
I work for an Outdoor/Ski Clothing Brand (by day - I make craft items to sell by evening!). We have reduced our sponsorship over the last year or so due to a change of direction in marketing from our Head Office, when we did sponsor people it was mainly by providing free kit in...
Hi Alex, I would be interested but would rather have a cost up front. I would also want to know about the legality of the arrangement, would I be signing over my house to you? What work would be done and what would the arrangement be while the work was being done? I don't know about other...
Sounds like an interesting idea. I guess it depends on what kind of sponsorship people are going to get in the end, obviously if it's money taking a cut will be simple but if it's a kit deal then it might be more complicated. Might be worth contacting some people who already have sponsorship...
Really interesting thread. I use google street view if I'm going somewhere I haven't been before and want to familiarise myself with what the building looks like/where I'm able to park. If people aren't visiting you and you have a website you'd think they'd just go there for all the info they...
Hi, we receive regular sponsorship requests and have to turn down loads. Things that make us say no are:
Irrelevant requests - for example asking a golf brand to sponsor you for swimming, make sure you research companies current marketing/sponsors to see if you fit in
Spelling - getting...
Hi Sarah,
If you can get a couple more clients as well hopefully things will snowball from there. i have a friend who cleans 3 or 4 houses a day and does quite well. She has built up a group of regular clients which obviously takes a while but she's said the best ones are usually older...
Good point! I'm actually looking at it from an employee point of view as I need to keep working while I start up my business as I'm in the very early stages and don't have the capital to give up my 'day job'. Thanks for the advice.:)
Sounds like a good idea, and if they decide not to go with it you can aways try to use the design for another client/as an example to a potential customer so you wouldn't have wasted your time. As others have said, if you have always had happy customers it should be a low risk. Maybe a time...
Love that description, now every time I see a targeted ad on facebook (which is scary enough without facebook knowing where you are! I trust my friends with that information but not facebook) I'm going to picture that scene from the Fast Show!
As an opportunity for marketers I can see the...
Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask but I thought I'd give it a go. I am thinking of going to a career advice company (paid for) and just wondered if anyone had used one & what they thought. Any opinions would be great, good or bad, just want to get a feel for the practice in...
I'm also looking at my first business banking account, my 'turnover' will be minimal but guess it's best to keep things separate from my personal banking. I bank with Barclays for personal banking and really like them so checked their offer, you can compare their accounts on the main Barclays...
I have sold some books on Amazon and it's been fine, make about 1 sale a week from an inventory of only 10 products. My advice would be research the price of your product first, I don't list anything at 1p only items that the seller pays over £5 for but ALWAYS check the amount you come out with...
Hi all, Just wanted to introduce myself and hopefully get some advice. Looking around the forums everyone seems really knowledgable on subjects where my mind is blank!
I am researching starting up a business selling initially on ebay but it is so saturated in my area (jewellery/craft) that I...
