I am the only director of a limited company and would like to apply for a bounce-back loan, but my bank is not offering it.
HSBC is allowing people to apply for a "feeder" account. The bounce-back loans are not credit checked. What the banks are doing is credit checking people to open the account, not supply the loan.
Can I change the directors of the company and apply with them? Without the loan I'm not going to survive.

Alison Moore: I would have thought you can change the directors, however there is a chance that the bank might not like the recent change in directorship when they look into the company and decide whether to offer a bank account.
Mr D: The new director would control the company, not you. What happens if they decide to sack you or if they opted not to go for the loan? You don't control a director.
At the start of the year, I paid more than £10,000 for a future employee and myself to complete training and feel let down by the training centre.
First, there was an issue with the equipment. The organiser then admitted there wasn’t a lot else we could do because the facility wasn’t up to scratch, before going on to ignore almost all contact after I stumped up the second payment. I’ve since met another six people in the same boat as us.
Given the poor quality of training provided, is it reasonable to go after a partial refund? There seems to be a clear pattern of taking cash and not providing services, is this fraud and could I recover money from the director rather than the company?
The Byre: Time to lawyer-up and get the claims rolling. You've paid for a service you didn't receive. It's a civil matter.
Gordon - Commercial Finance: It’s absolutely reasonable. Go after them for all you can get.
KAC: If the service was provided by a limited company, their balance sheet should have been filed at Companies House. May be worth checking online to see whether the company appears to have any assets or whether you would just be throwing good money after bad.
MBE2017: Just for a refund or partial refund, arguing not supplying as per your contract. That is relatively easy for a court to decide on, fraud is much harder to get anywhere with. Use KAC’s suggestion as well, no point chasing where you are unlikely to get anything.
I'm quite curious about how Brexit/coronavirus will affect the UK (mainly London's) construction and property Industry. I read a statistic that said 35% of construction workers in the UK are made up of EU or foreign nationals, as most of us are aware.
The Government is considering construction workers as a skilled trade as they've realised the industry would fall to its knees without EU or foreign nationals.
The problem is that most of these workers don't have the relevant certificates to their trades except on the job experience. Is there a way around this?
Darren_Ssc: I left the construction industry 12 years ago and it's the best thing I ever did, even though it meant being skint for four years and also included a spell of homelessness.
mattk: It’s not a great time to be in construction, however, if 35% of workers go back to the EU it will certainly soften the blow.
Chris Ashdown: Foreign workers have always moved to where the better money is, and also a language they can speak a little of.

I run a music club for kids in a soundproofed shed inside an industrial unit. There’s no hot water and one pretty grim toilet that’s also used by the business we share the industrial unit with. They share everything.
I’m under pressure to reopen after lockdown but there’s nothing to attach a Perspex screen to for social distancing and I can’t get the kids to remain two metres apart.
I’m planning on reopening for kids to go in one at a time with planned time slots to record but I can’t think what else to do. Any thoughts?
gpietersz: Are you getting SEISS (if self -employed) or furlough (if you have a company)? Can you hang on for a few months and see whether you can reopen then? Moving to new premises?
RobinBHM: You probably need to look at the teaching unions advice and see what they are saying for schools. I’m guessing you can't offer an online alternative?
Porky: There is an extended council grant if you are in shared premises for those that didn’t qualify for the main grant. It’s only up to £5,000 but it could cover three months of rent and costs which could help you - certainly worth a try?
Alan: You can get a grant of £25,000, £10,000 or any amount under £10,000.
