Venture Giant

I am currently seeking investment for a new music festival in Manchester. 24hours after uploading a business plan to a company called Venture Giant I received an email saying...

"A vetted Investor from Venture Giant has reviewed your investment proposal Invest in a Music Festival and has asked you to make contact as he is interested in investing in it."

...

"Please pay your listing fee by clicking here and contact this investor that is waiting to hear from you."

It seems a little suspicious. Has anyone had an experience with Venture Giant?

Thanks,

Nath

Thanks for the reply. I saw that, that is the only isolated event that I did find and I thought the reply by Venture Giant seemed fairly reasonable. Still very dubious however

I'm not aware of anything inherently dodgy or bad about Venture Giant or similar sites

They are, however pretty uncommitted on both sides

If you are looking for investment you stick a plan on the site and hope someone picks it up; if you are an investor you express vague interest, a fee is paid (not sure to whom) and you get to review the plan

Seeking investment is a big job and to do it properly you need to invest a lot of time and probably money into a professional investor-friendly plan.

Along the way you will come across plenty of 'pretend' investors who either are just playing or are trying to sell other products.

Many real investments also take the form of interest-bearing loans

To give some perspective, I neither offer nor broke investment, but most weeks I will receive unsolicited plan from random folk seeking investment

I used VG for a project that needed funding. Didn't get funding through VG in the end but there was a fair bit of interest which lead to a couple of meetings.

I got the same message as you asking for payment and was very suspicious as it had all the hallmarks of a scam but gave it ago. I'd say try it.

Hi mate

Ive recently received interest from two high end investors myself via venture giant after less than 24hrs of my proposal going live, but im still awaiting feedback from both investors. The payment of 99.00 is how venture giant makes it revenue for advertising and sending your business proposal to potential investors interested in the field of your business.

Once the payment has been made this allows you to open up the description and profile of the potential investor who's showing an interest in your proposal which then allows you to make contact with them and if you wanted, research the investor and get an idea of what sort of investor he is and how he can help your business/festival.

Good luck!

Kyle
