Is there a way of establishing how many of a particular product has been sold over a time period?

Magento Backend > Reports > Products > Bestsellers

    Does exactly what you're after...

Tried that - that only gives me the top 5 best selling products in a particular time period - not for a specific product.

Magento Backend > Reports > Products > Products Ordered

Show by Year and set the time period, then look for the product (find on the page and paste the product name).

Surely that gives you what you want?

Nope - only gives the top 5 sellers over the year. Thought by exporting it would show more but not so. Only the top 5 products sold over the time period. Can you change the number of products shown?

The latter option should be showing more than 5 products. But anyway, yes, it is possible to make it show more than the 5 products but the code for this is in core files so you would need to (ideally) have this extended either via an override or custom extension (preferred).

Thanks very much - I was hoping to be more exact but I guess I'll resort to the tried and tested thumbsuck method. I'm certainly not wading through invoices to get a figure.

    are you familiar with SQL?

connect to your database (in cpanel just google how to do that) and run:

    Code:
    SELECT sku,SUM(qty_ordered) FROM sales_flat_order_item
WHERE created_at BETWEEN NOW()-INTERVAL 10 WEEK AND NOW() AND sku='enter product sku here'

that gives you a number of products with specified SKU ordered for the last ten weeks

if you can tell me your sku and time period I will write the correct sql query but syntax is simple.
