The intros forum now seems to be the haunt of spammers and advertisers.

There are more and more people using it as an advertising forum to promote their new website/business. The muscle/heath lot seems to have eased off but now it's Asians promoting their rubbish websites with made up names and stock images.

Can all new members be moderated before their introduction goes live?

It isn't just the noobs that abuse the forum but a huge number of respondents posting "welcome to the forum" are really saying "pick me, pick me" and are only posting to get their signatures out there and actually only rarely post elsewhere

The whole situation would change if signatures were all suppressed in the Introductions forum.

Incidentally I reported the person that you are referring to as soon as I spotted it at about 6:30am but there are rarely mods about that early in the morning and he/she is still there two hours later

I remember some discussion a while back about bringing some new mods on board to moderate specific forums. Wonder what happened to that idea? @Kat Haylock

This is a good idea - I'm also aware of the large quantity of self promo we've seen in Introductions recently. It's drowning out genuine new posts which is a shame: I'll see what I can do.

Which forums do you think would benefit from specifically assigned mods?

Can we have a special forum just about Nicki Minaj?

    Bags I moderate!

Well, the introductions would be a good place to start. Starting a new business also seems to get it's fair share of self-promoters.

The SEO forum - that's a battleground all on it's own!

If Nicki Minaj gets her own forum can we have one for Justin Beiber as her talent should be recognised as well.

I'll have a chat with the team and get some opinions on this. The Nicki Minaj and Justin Bieber suggestions might get lost along the way though.. :p
