Closing a business bank account - never been used

    Hi

    I am posting this for a friend who wants advice on how she would close down her business bank account - it was set up when she created a limited company in 2008 but it never traded and the bank account has never been used.

    Can this be done over the phone or web or would she have to call into the branch?

    Isn't it simpler to ask the bank what they need?

    A letter dropped off at the branch is probably best because you can ask for acknowledgement. Or you could simply have the company struck off and th ebank will close it automatically BUT if you do this make sure there are no assets in the company and no money in the bank
