If its a normal user that is using a BT broadband account then its not going to be possible to find out who it belongs to, unless you can legally force the ISP to hand over their records.

But without at the least a court order, I cant see that happening, unless you work for the government or some other place that can access data under the RIPA act. But again, you would have to have grounds for wanting the data.

Highlight it to Google and they will refund your account if they see fit.

Do you have ANY sales associated with the IP? If so that may give you an indication on who it may be.

Word of caution - it maybe a shared IP address. Does Saletrack allow a cookie to be placed on a visitors pc? Do you definately know it is the same person?

The clicks come from the same ip address they click on the same ad around half a dozen time every day for nearly a year. Normally late at night, google don't charge me for 95% of the clicks from that ip, last time I looked they had clicked over 200 times in the last few months!

They must have more spare time than me!

I can block the ip address through my hosting but I have not done this because at the moment I know exactly what they are doing and they don't know that I know they are clciking on my ads over and over again. I don't want to force them underground!

From the history of the clicks and the ip address owner (BT) iam 99% its the same person ie its not shared.

I now have the ip blocked with google but its not fool proof and still let's afe through, I have got a good idea that its one out of ten companies could I trace the ip address through there emails?

The reason why I want to know is why would a company seem me as such a threat that they will. Devote time every day to try and run my adwords bill up? If only they knew that I did not get charged for these clicks and they found out that they have wasted a good few hours of there time!

I spose you could try something like a reverse DNS lookup if that helps, hmmm I was going to post you a url with a form to use but I can't before I post 15 posts....odd when a lot of people in this section of the forum would need to do just that, oh well.
Do a google search for "reverse dns lookup" and follow your nose....good luck

you could try and google the ip address. if they have a website with bt and it is on this server there website will come up. also try whois.

If you ask your solicitor to write you a letter to Bt requesting information on that i.p address explaining that they are abusing your website by constantly requesting your google advertising address, explain that you want to take legal action . its a long-shot but it may work.

The other option is to use a Private investigator that has knowledge of computer and website forensics, if you ring jigsaw investigation services and ask to speak to Alan Marr, he may be able to your problem but if he cant he will definitely know someone that can. you can contact them through jigsawservices. co. uk
