Can I add......

I had 3 general email enquiries yesterday about:

1. Do I ship to the xyz in the states and how much ?
2. Would I do a discount if I bought xy and z ?
3. Can I tell them more about xyz

My question is, am I 'allowed' to add them to my newsletter marketing email list ?

Hmmmmm.. ....I would REALLY REALLY like to add them, but not not sure, seem to have one saying why not (my prefered view) and another saying no (what I kind of think!) anyone else like to comment ?

Should I just add them anyway ?

You shouldn't add them to the newsletter if they haven't opted-in. Spammers add people to mailing lists who haven't chosen to be added.

Some people get really aggravated about getting E-mails they haven't asked for so you have to be careful. I'd send them an E-mail and ask if you can add them, or just let them know that they can join up and explains the benefits they will receive by doing so.

I'm with Scott here.

In your reply, I'd put something like:

"I hope this is of assistance. If you would like any further updates to our exciting range, then why not sign up to our monthly newsletter!"

You might want to embellish this a bit if there are any special offers on your newsletter, and you may also want to post a link to the page where they can opt in.

At least this way they are choosing to receive it, rather than you simply send it unsolicited.
