Opinion on a newbie's website

Hi, i'm shareef. i'm new to the forum.

I joined the forum to support my internet business that sells nokia n96 phones for £210 each.

i'm not a professional when it comes to marketing on the web or with web design, so I want to ask what you guys think of my website:

i know it doesnt have a top notch design and the domain name is pretty long. but what else do you think about it? how can it be improved?

i started the site just yesterday and as i dont have much money to invest in it, i'm on the lookout for free advertising opportunities i.e. networking, blogs etc.

I'm currently selling nokia n96 phones at a wholesale price of £210 with free delivery of course from my site. I purchase from wholesalers, not retailers and thats why my price is about half other cost that retail are charging ther customers.

I think your main problem will be trust! £210 is a fairly substantial amount to spend on a one page site. The page you have done is ok but if I was a potential customer I'd be put off straight away because there's nothing to build my confidence in your service.

It may be a very good deal that you're offering, but people will be sceptical so you need to add things to make them feel that this is going to be a safe place to shop. "About us", "Delivery policy", "Online security" and "Returns" pages will all help.

I would register your own domain name
Then get a professional site developed at the moment I would think what you are selling is fake. There would be no trust as far as I am concerned.

If you don;t have much money then I suggest you raise the price of your product. Being that it is half the price of normall retailers, why sell at 75% and then you can invest in a proper website.

I agree. I would definitely not be tempted to buy from your site as it is. The domain name is way too long, and the site looks like it didn't take you long. To gain the trust of potential customers it will have to be a lot more credible. Why not ask someone on here to do you a website? You can get either free (!) or really good deals.

i took your advice and i built a new website with terms and conditions etc. with a better look. (my new site: mfusion.synthasite.com) i'm going to purchase a simple domain name.

please let me know what you think? your help is much appreciated.

If I was going to spend that much on a phone I'd expect a site/ company to be on par with http://www.carphonewarehouse.com and not some free website builder.
Ultimate fail.

My partner will do you a rental site if you're interested. Will cost you around £25 per month. He has found a lot of people are going for rental now instead of paying out a lot. Please PM me if you're interested.

Hi,

The main problems I can see , which would make me steer clear of your website.

The fonts are different on pretty much every page.
The font on the product page does not look very professional, stick to verdana, arial or Times Roman, something plain and simple
The site is a freebie, if I was buying a phone worth £220 , I would look for someone with a registered domain name and has put some effort into building a proper site, so I can easily find them through WHOIS .
I am not keen on paypal buy it now buttons, that said I do use them on one of my sites at the moment , but for a product worth £3.00. So I do not think people are so worried for a small amount.
Your contact us page gives no address or phone number , looks iffy.
Also are you really Dial-a-Phone, a trading division of Phones 4u Limited, if so can you not use Phones 4U web development? Or did you just copy the text?
