If you provide a forum for people to chat about their vehicles, you can probably get a fair few customers. Consider alternatives to exclusively advertising affiliates though, such as "Paid" adverts for peoples vehivles, which would be more prominent, on the front page, etc.

If you work hard, learn from your mistakes and don't mind admitting when you need help, I'm sure you can make a million(or something). Really though, it does sound like a worthwhile venture.
