I'm looking to protect my stock which is between 40-50K UKP....

Currently I'm getting quoted silly insurance quotations of around £350..

Can anybody recommend a company to approach for a quote?

I would say £350 was pretty good!

Material damage risk on it's own isn't that attractive to insurance companies and your likely to come up against minimum premiums with a stand alone policy.

Can you not add it to your existing Liability policy?

What are you insuring? That has a big factor, along with where you are storing it.

I was paying a lot more than that on about the same, my stock was in shop / attached concrete storage unit fully alarmed etc.

I think thats a good quote
