Introducing My SMS Marketing Company

Welcome to the fold.

Just to be controversial, is SMS now coming to its last burst as 3G takes over and offers a much richer advertising medium?

PS. I have spent a lot of time in Munich recently and have been struck by the huge number of tv adverts for SMS services and ringtones - the oddest aspect is that all of the ads seem to be run at least twice during each ad break. (Probably watching the wrong channels.)

Glad I am on Freeview and mostly watch things via. a Tivo. Wonder what it says about the attention span. I still cannot understand the popularity of many of the "character" based ringtones (I would rapidly lose the will to live if I had one of those going off all day long).

I was in a Marriot last week meeting another UKBF member for business, and whilst waiting in the bar a mobile phone rang, and a rather embarrased smartly dressed gentleman fumbled for his phone quickly as possible due to the "dingle dongle singing tweety bird" ring tone.
Those who have seen the advert will know how bad this really is.
