I set up a Limited last year; I would like to know how to proceed to declare my company as "dormant". Could you tell me what steps to take with the IR and with Companies House?
Thank you in advance

Companies House

Even though the company is dormant you must still file accounts with companies house, although a simplified balance sheet will be sufficient.

Inland Revenue

You could have told them when completing form CT41G.

If you have received a notice to deliver a company tax return you must complete and file a return(CT600) on the front tick the box which says that you are not filing accounts with the return and put the reason as the company is dormant.

Hi Denis,

If you need a form to submit your dormant accounts just drop me a PM and I'll email you one.

As asmoore has pointed out you MUST still file accounts. If you do not then you will receive a penalty which starts at £100.

Mike.
