PR - Pay Only On Published Results!

Hi There,
Just wanted to ask. Has anyone had any experience with PR Companies that charge you for only published results.

We have been approached by a company who is offering this service and just wanted to know if anyone has had any bad or good experiences from such a method??

You mean, they charge you for each article published?

I've not heard of this before, but it sounds pretty good. Do you have a wish-list of where you want it published, though?

If they publish to a load of useless article websites and then claim job done you will be ripped off. Find out what there definition of "published results" is.

Sounds interesting. Do keep us posted on it.

Sounds good but I would suggest you draw up a list of publications you want them to target - and you pay them for coverage in THOSE publications only. Otherwise, as Simon says, you'll end up on websites in the arse end of nowhere and out of pocket!

As Simon-M says, define what a published article means before you enter a deal.

While pay per results can be a very cost effective way to get a PR company promoting your business, be aware that it can also be very expensive.

We don't offer this service, but I believe that typically you are charged a percentage of the AVE of the article.

Articles are given an AVE value - standing for Advertising Value Equivalent. ie if you get a full page editorial, and the equivalent cost to buy that page would have been £20,000, you will be charged a percentage of that.

Hit the nationals - fantastic... until you get a bill for a few grand!

Hi There,

Having spoken in depth with the company they charge a set fee for insertion. This differs from National and regional mags. But it's not over £150 per National insertion which I thought was pretty good.

They specialise in a certain sector (gifts, weddings, homes and interiors) so all the publications they deal with are the type of magazines you would want to be featured in anyway. You can choose the products you want them to promote etc.

They will also cap your monthly spend if you need to budget.

Sounds too good doesn't it??
I'll let you know how it goes.
