When you are doing business with Chinese suppliers, what is the method of payment, T/T, L/C, Paypal, Credit card, ect...

Paypal is new for the chinese and so is only just being signed up by them.
In my experiance most curently prefer Western union which costs us rather alot and does not have any kind of protection unlike paypal and some others.

Do your research before purchasing form any chinese suppler.

Hope this helps

It might depend on what you're buying/selling, but Moneybookers or Escrow might be worth looking at too?

I've always just used a telegraphic transfer with my own bank. There is a handling charge, but it's not too much.

However, be careful if you pay in US dollars. There is an extra handling fee of USD28 (something to do with terrorism prevention). I had a supplier asking me why my payment was USD28 short. I was unaware of the charge at the time.

I would usually make a payment in RMB, but this was a small branch, and USD was the only viable option at the time.
