Website Quote

Hi chaps,

We're snowed under at the moment, and have had an updated request from an existing client requiring a website by the 3rd week of Jan next year. As we're unable to meet the deadline, I thought I'd post here to see if I can get one of you guys to help me out. I'll require quotes via email please - to [email protected]

The website is for an estate agent, and will require designing and a backend being produced. The backend needs to be a fully functional cms, capable of adding, amending, and flagging the "deletion" of existing properties. The properties need to have status updates, going through the various stages of when properties are being sold. Photographs (up to 6) of each property will need to be upload, and presented in a way similar to how rightmove do it. Description of the house will be in a standard format from the agent, so it won't require seperate fields, etc for number of rooms, etc - basically one large description area is what will be required. Hosting wise, this won't be required, as we're already hosting the rest of their services. Ideally, this will be written in .NET, and use MSSQL (of which we'll provide) - but PHP & MySQL is avaliable too - it'd just make less work for me later on if it was written using MSSQL :)

To summarise the spec:

  • Design (Simple, and elegant the client is of an older generation, and doens't like modern look/feel)
  • Logo not need - that's already been done
  • CMS which would include uploading of photographs, description of property, seperate field for postcode, and then the remainder of the address
  • Section to include a map (will be brought in at a later date) of the area
  • Ability to edit, flag as deleted, and change the status of properties
Overall, it's a simple site - with the most complicated part being the client :) You'll be liasing directly with her, rather than myself or my partner - but as we're so busy working on the other side of the business for her I thought I'd offer it around here first. She's asked me to get some quotes and contact details of companies that I'd recommend - the only important aspect is the timescale, which granted is a bit tight for this time of the year. Budget wise, open to anything - but if you've a portfolio to backup your quote that I can show her (she's clingy, believe you me, you're doing me a favour hehe) that'd be great.

The name, logo, colour scheme, and contact information have all been prepared and are ready, so she'd really looking to get going with this over the next 2 or 3 days.

Any quotes that come in, I'll pass directly onto her - it'd be great to get a few in before end of play today as I'm popping down to her office this evening to get some other work signed off.

I think that's about it..

Thanks,

Chris

Hi cmarks, we wrote a property rental/sales system in use by several happy agencies, so instead of re-inventing the wheel I've emailed you a spec. It does everything you ask for in your brief plus a lot more. If there's anything bespoke we need to add in the future that can be accomodated.

Regards,

Miles

Yep, as the copyright is duly there! Our strengths are in software development more than graphics design - we'd outsource that to some clever people if a customer wanted something mega glitzy.

Plus for a while we were using a standard CMS template in any case so I thought a reworked template would look better!

YODspica, yeah - perhaps if Wales get together for a meet it'd be a good networking oppurtinity :)

Thank you all for the quotes - I've passed them onto the client, I didn't expect so many quotes - came back from a meeting to have my inbox bursting at the seams!
