Looking for e-commerce Partner --- %50 Share

    Ok hello guys I'll get straight to the point i am looking for a partner to help me with my e-commerce business. I am looking to start up my own site which will be located at www(dot)flowdeals(dot)com

    For the last 3 months i have been researching and finding sources and suppliers that are reliable and trustworthy. After many hours of work i have come up with a few very reliable and good priced suppliers.

    I am now looking for a partner who is willing to invest into my business to gain %50 share. Investment amount with be £1000.

    I have a 5 year business plan set out already, the reason i am looking for a partner is because i am hoping we will grow into a reasonable sized business.

    Please reply if you have experience in the following;
    - Web Deisgn (Needed)
    - PHP coding (Recommended not needed though)
    - E-Commerce (Needed)
    - Fluent in English (Needed)

    Welcome to the forum Matt- a launch date of January 2009 is rather tight, is it not?

    You've said a lot about what you're looking for, however you don't seem to have said exactly what Flowdeals will actually do or sell and 50% of the business is a rather big chunk to give away for just £1000.

    What are your projected costings/profit for those first 5 years, and why not just borrow £1000 off a friend or as a small loan?

    Hi thanks for all the responses guys. I am looking for someone who is will to invest £1000 into the company for a %50 share. The reason for this is mainly for the skills they posse yes. I have invested £2,400 myself so far.

    The trouble is you are looking for someone to put in £1000 and then supply free skills. Why not ask for some skills for 50% of the company.

    And if you have put in £2400 then £1200 would buy 50%

    If you can give more details and a better timeline as not a lot of work will be done over the next two weeks, so January is tight...if not impossible.

    Anyway the point being that we are always willing to look at anything (within reason) so drop me a PM. :)

    Just a few comments...

    If you are looking for a good developer then their input will be worth 1000's, if anything to show your commitment to the project you should be paying them a £1000 upfront but probably in exchange for a smaller %.

    You will definitely want someone with e-commerce skills if it's an e-commerce site you need.

    Both parties need a solicitor to check the contract.

    Your launch time is totally unrealistic for a good e-commerce site, that is not a diss really just a little bit of expectional management. Remember the better the site the more chance of success you have.

    I am only looking for £1000 to invest is that all that i have calculated what i need. And the only skills that i am looking for my partner to have is e-commerce.

    I can program and design websites. I think i am going to delay the launch date to February-March 2009 which will be decided when i have a partner.

    Have you looked for any start up funding?
    With a 5 year plan already done, many of the regional agencies (Buisness Link, etc.) may be able to suggest a different approach that lets you keep 100%.

    Then, as already suggested, you just buy in the appropriate expertise - that's if you can't get most of what you need for free from forums like this.
