Our online Company Donating to Charity help?!

Hello Everyone,

We are launching our company very soon, one of our main products is an online security software for children (custom web browser)

As we are providing a software for children, we are thinking that we would like to donate 10% of every sale to a chosen childrens charity.

How do we go about doing this? Do we contact the charity direct or can we simply take 10% of each sale and donate it manually?

You know what I have no idea.
However I think what you are doing is great and I am going to do the same so if you find out let me know.

Nice idea. Personally I would find a relatively high profile charity and contact them directly as if you are donating it would be good to get some PR/Traffic in return.

So maybe tell them that you will exclusively donate to them if they can feature you in their newsletter/website etc to get some publicity for what you are doing.

Thanks guys for the replies, I think I will be choosing a high profile company and then contacting them directly and hopefully in return for a small amount of advertising! I am thinking about maybe a child abuse charity!
