Hi

I havbe purchased a list of names of potential customers. This has been supplied in a spreadsheet.

Just wondered if anyone could advise me of how to set these up as an email list please

I'm sure there's plenty of options out there for you, from just handling it in Outlook using a merge (not done it myself) to hosted tools you can use with a per email charge.

We provide an Email Management System that will let you run numerous campaigns, personalise details (ie adding names), and import names and emails from a CSV file.

We don't charge per email or anything and it uses your own POP account so emails come from you. It's £80 for a standalone setup and £15/yr after that. More information is in the Extra Add-Ons section of our Website Development page.

Hi there

I too have an excel spreadsheet of names and email addresses for a potential client list and have been wondering how to go about doing this. Would I just give you the spreadsheet and the email that wants sending out and would you just do the rest ie personalize each email and so forth? Thanks peter

Have a look at Mailchimp but not sure if you can use purchased lists **please check before using**

If you can use lists (as we only use them for customers of our store and not lists) then you can copy and paste your e-mail addresses from Excel into a mailer ist

As above though check the T&C's before you send

It does depend on what software or online system you are using but they all have (or should have) an import system. We use MailList Controller from Arclab which is a piece of software that runs on your PC. There's a one off purchase price and that's it. It doesn't do tracking - or at least not built in, you can persuade it to do something using Google Analytics, but if you don't need tracking it is an excellent bit of software.

It does handle subscribe, unsubscribe and returned mail

Mail Chimp won't allow the use of purchased lists. There are mailing programs that charge a per email fee or monthly retainer to mail out on your behalf and they also manage unsubscribes and you can clearly see how many opened it etc which is very useful. Make sure you offer the recipient the option to unsubscribe too.
